Choose a word from Vocabulary Lesson 12. In at least one paragraph, define the word in your own words and explain where you encountered it. Describe how understanding this word helps improve your communication or writing skills.

Prompt:
A "malapropism" is when someone uses a word incorrectly because it sounds similar to the word they actually mean, which can lead to funny or confusing results. For example, instead of saying "It's a mute point," someone might say "It's a moot point," using the wrong word that sounds similar but has a different meaning. I first noticed malapropisms in movies where characters try to sound smart but end up using the wrong words, which often adds humor. Understanding malapropisms helps with communication by reminding us to be careful with our word choices and avoid confusion or embarrassment. It also makes us more aware when we hear others using words incorrectly, so we can help correct them or just laugh at the funny mistake.

Summary:
Today in class we learned new vocabulary work and did some exercises to better understand the words.

Reflection:
I wish I had more time to complete the assignment.
