Write about a moment when you felt you had the power to make a difference in someone else's life.

Prompt Response:
One moment I felt I had the power to make a difference was when I helped a new student who was struggling to fit in. On the first day of school, she seemed lost and alone, so I decided to sit with her at lunch. We talked about our favorite shows and books, and I introduced her to some of my friends. Over time, she started to feel more comfortable and made her own friends. It felt amazing to know that a small act of kindness could help someone feel less isolated and more included.

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Prompt Response:
One place where I feel at peace the most is by the water, like a lake or the beach. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore or gently lapping against the rocks is so calming. The air always feels fresh, and the view of the horizon seems endless, which helps clear my mind. There's something about being near water that makes everything else feel quieter, and it's easier to let go of stress and just be present in the moment. It's like the natural world has its own rhythm, and when I'm there, I can tune into that peaceful energy and just relax.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt Response:
In 9th grade, my English teacher said something that really stuck with me. One day, after I turned in an essay, she pulled me aside and told me, "You have a way of expressing your thoughts that's unique, but sometimes you hold back. Don't be afraid to let your voice come through more." At first, I didn't really understand what she meant. But over time, I started paying attention to how I wrote and talked. After that, I became more confident in sharing my thoughts, whether it was in writing or during class discussions.

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Prompt Response:
There was a time during my sophomore year when I had to rely on a classmate to help me catch up after missing several days of school due to being sick. I felt embarrassed at first, because I didn't want to seem like I was falling behind or burdening anyone. However, my classmate was really understanding and took the time to explain the stuff I had missed and even shared their notes with me. It felt a bit humbling to depend on someone else but also reassuring. I realized that it's okay to ask for help and that people are often more willing to support you than you might expect.

Write about an object that holds sentimental value and why it’s important to you

Prompt Response:
One object that holds a lot of sentimental value to me is an old journal I received from my grandmother when I was little. The journal is filled with sketches, notes, and small memories from her childhood that she passed on to me over the years. It's not just a book, but a connection to her life and the wisdom she shared. Whenever I feel uncertain or need guidance, I turn to it, and it reminds me of the strong bond we shared. The pages are soft and fragile now, but to me, they represent love, history, and a reminder to always keep writing my own story.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt Response:
A moment I've had to step out of my comfort zone is every time I've had to talk to a big group of people. Talking to a big group of people makes me anxious. For example, when presenting a project, I get very anxious. Out of all the time I have had to present it never gets easy. I'm always stressing the day before or hours before I have to present.
